It might be interesting, although less dynamically lit, if you had less line work on the upper body to describe all of the musculature and used a frontal light source and had some simple blocks of shadow to describe the form.

You know, I love Darwin's method for addapting to defeat the Hulk: The only way to defeat the Hulk is to completely avoid him! :lmao:

Very well done! :D I'm no expert, but I believe it's in a good place between simplicity and realism!

i kinda like that line work though, and also in that kinda case i find thats too much infrmatation the lightin has to hold up, i like simple lightin, thanks for the ideas though

Very well done, as usual. :)

Such is the animator's mentality, ever striving to strip detail away, and establish ideas in their simplest, most distilled form. I do admire that, having worked alongside animators for a long time. But I'm more of an advocate of balance, and I appreciate marvelous complexity as well as wondrous simplicity. Aesthetics, as the just, wise parent, does not favor one child over another. Although professional demands may necessitate a bit of alacrity, detail retains its coveted appeal.

I will never commit the whole or half of my effort and talent to exclusively illustrating in either extreme, since I feel it's like sticking to one area of the playground. And I also relish the possibilities of blending the two opposites, allowing them to perfectly complement each other. A simplistically rendered character can work well over a complex background, and vice versa.

The key for me is versatility, and I like to let the project itself dictate which perspective is ideally suitable or effective.
